amount measure ingredient -- preparation method
2 pounds italian sausage -- cooked (see below)
1 large green bell pepper -- sliced and chopped
1 large red bell pepper -- sliced and chopped
1 medium white onion -- chopped
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt -- to taste
1/2  teaspoon   black pepper -- to taste
1/2 teaspoon red crushed pepper -- to taste

to prepare:
preheat oven 350 degrees F.
place sausage links in small cooking pan with 1/3 cup of water.
cook in oven for 30-45 minutes until brown.  during cooking time turn
    sausages and keep water in pan. poke holes to prevent splitting.
when sausages are cooked, prepare the bell pepper mixture.
in large skillet, place chopped bell peppers, onions, garlic, salt,
    peppers in olive oil, saute' until peppers are soft. (approx. 10 minutes)
slice cooked sausages and add to bell pepper mixture.
stir, heat and serve. 


serving ideas:
serve over extra thick cut french fries.  also make a sandwich using heated french or italian bread.  spread thatsanice "sugo" on bread.
